I’m terrible at this….

So, I started this blog with the best intentions. Started with a plan. With regular features.

Most importantly with motivation.

2015, when I started this blog, I wasn’t very well. For a lot of the year. This involved multiple hospital trips, tests and scans, ending with no results.

2016 was a mixed year, losing jobs, losing people, getting a job I’ve wanted for ages and a trip to Australia.

I’m going start again. Well not from scratch, but I am going try and stick with this. Without the strict (impossible) schedule, without the pressure. Just when I want yo and about what I want to.

Let’s do this!

Worth the wonga…? Garnier PureActive BB Cream

I bought this as complete impulse as it was on a buy one get the cheapest free deal in boots.  I really don’t know why I did it, £9.99 for a BB Cream!? In my defence I was on the way back from the doctors as I’ve not been to well of late so I’m blaming that.

It smells quite nice and the consitency is good.  The colour however, for me at least, is all wrong.  I got it in the lightest shade available which is still too dark, having a shade range of only two is perhaps not so great.

The coverage is really quite good compared to other BB Creams I’ve tried, but the colour was just so off putting.  Maybe if I ever end up with a slight tan it might not be too bad.  But at the moment I’d probably say it’s not, for me at least, worth the tenner I spent on it.

Have you tried the Garnier PureActive BB Cream? Did you get on with it? Was the colour a good match?

Let’s try this again…..

   starting over

So.  Way back when in January, I did the thing I usually try to do “yes this year I’m going to do well with a blog”

Well, I think we can all see how that went, given the length of time between this and the previous post.

Now here I am attempting to get back into the swing of things and actually take it seriously.

Let’s see how long it lasts this time then hey.

Gimme 5! Songs I’m loving!

This week (I’m aware it’s not Wednesday) I’m sharing five songs I’m currently obsessed with.  You know the ones, could quite happily listen to them on repeat seven times in a row and you’re still not fed up with it……

Ellie Goulding – Love me like you do: Yes the song from the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.  If the film clips weren’t in the video it would probably be a lot better, although saying this I flipping love the song and can’t listen to it quite enough at the moment. (I am also a little bit wanting to see the film, but we’ll save that for later)

Forever Can Wait – Excuses: A 5 piece formed in Southampton, and a brilliant bunch of peeps. I’ve been re-obsessed with their EP and just can’t stop listening to it, rather hard to pick my favourite track from it. Rubbish that they’re not doing the music stuff together any more, but definitely check out Beauty and Grace.

Yellowcard – Ocean Avenue: A good old favourite.  I’ve loved this song for years and I’m sure I’ll love it for years more.  Every now and then I re-develop a massive crush on this song and become completely fixated with it again.

Deaf Havana – Whiskey: My favourite band kept this little gem relatively quiet, but I am IN LOVE with this song.  It’s just beautiful. (I also couldn’t find a link for it, so you’ll just have to buy the 22 EP on iTunes)

And I couldn’t quite pick a fifth song on it’s own so have a spotify playlist of a bunch of songs I love.  Please excuse the title, but enjoy and let me know what’s your favourite song from it.

It’s Friday I’m in love….

With my Starbucks travel mug!!!

I’ve hardly let it go since picking it up for the princely sum of £3 (yes you did read that correctly).  After an extensive boxing day sales shopping session, of which I spent far too much money, but man was it worth it, a coffee was well deserved.2015/01/img_09721.jpg

Usually I drool at the Christmas travel  cups in Starbucks, but shun the price.  But I couldn’t leave this one there, and I’m so glad I got it.  It’s hardly left me since I bought it.  Now, I have a bit of a tea obsession, so it’s perfect to have on my desk at work and on the way to work (and at home). The ornate leaf on the side is ideal for tying a teabag round to get the perfect brew. And it looks pretty without being overly obnoxious.

Gimme 5! Current Everyday Makeup Products!

Something to start to make sure I keep this up and post regularly, I’m hoping this will be a weekly Wednesday post.

Gimme 5!  A quick roundup of 5 things I can’t live without right now.  This week, Make up!

1. Revlon ColourStay Makeup – I have (what I would consider) extremely oily skin, as everyone does, I’ve been on the search for “the one” in the foundation race for some time.  Having finally caved and purchased it, at the recommendation of Miss Budget Beauty, I have truly fallen in love.

2. Revlon PhotoReady Concealer – You can probably see a theme, I’ve an obsession with Revlon base’s at the moment.  As well as oily skin, I’ve also been “blessed” with dark circles, with a bit of powder it lasts incredibly well, even on my face.

3. No7 Lash Impact Mascara – I got a sample size of this in the No7 Beauty calendar in December and immediately all of my other mascaras were pushed aside.  So when I saw there was a No7 kit in the Boots sale after Christmas, with this included, I couldn’t leave it there (that, and this limited edition packaging is just beautiful)

4. French Connection Eyeshadow Collection – Again, another Boots post Christmas sale bargain.  The texture of these shadows are lovely, the colour pay off from some are a little lacking, but the darker colours definitely do this palette justice.  And let’s face it, who doesn’t love a smokey eye?!

5. Topshop Neon Rose Blush – A good old favourite, this blush often works it way back into my makeup stash, but recently it’s been regular in the makeup bag.  Although it does look pretty scary at first, the right application and it’s just lovely.

So, there’s my first Gimme 5! Tell me 5 makeup items you’re loving this week!

And I’d quite like to think that’s what this will be!

An adventure!

I have no idea how this will go, I have no idea if I’ll still be doing it in a year. I’d like to hope so, but who can tell? Certainly not me.

Ever the optimist, I’m aiming to write about things I like, be it clothes, make up, music; and things I do, going out, going away and just being me.

So put on your dancing shoes and let’s see what happens!
